17 Pray/GOD’s will

17 Pray/GOD’s will

A) Pray is talking to GOD, GOD ask us when we pray, don’t do it in front of people, to show off, but to hide yourself, also do not repeat

Mat 6:5 And when you make your prayers, be not like the false-hearted men, who take pleasure in getting up and saying their prayers in the Synagogues and at the street turnings so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.
Mat 6:6 But when you make your prayer, go into your private room, and, shutting the door, say a prayer to your Father in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will give you your reward.
Mat 6:7 And in your prayer do not make use of the same words again and again, as the Gentiles do: for they have the idea that God will give attention to them because of the number of their words.

What kind of mental attitude we should have

1Ts 5:16 Have joy at all times.
1Ts 5:17 Keep on with your prayers.
1Ts 5:18 In everything give praise: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you.

How to let Holy Spirit live in us:

Act 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Rom 8:10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
1Jn 1:7 But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us clean from all sin.
Eph 6:18 With prayers and deep desires, making requests at all times in the Spirit, and keeping watch, with strong purpose, in prayer for all the saints,
Psm 66:18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
1Jn 5:14 And we are certain that if we make any request to him which is right in his eyes, he will give ear to us:

B) In order for GOD to listen, we must understand GOD’s will

Eph 5:17 For this reason, then, do not be foolish, but be conscious of the Lord's pleasure.
1Pe 2:15 Because it is God's pleasure that foolish and narrow-minded men may be put to shame by your good behavior:
Eph 6:6 Not only under your master's eye, as pleasers of men; but as servants of Christ, doing the pleasure of God from the heart;
Rom 12:2 And let not your behavior be like that of this world, but be changed and made new in mind, so that by experience you may have knowledge of the good and pleasing and complete purpose of God.
Jas 1:18 Of his purpose he gave us being, by his true word, so that we might be, in a sense, the first-fruits of all the things which he had made.

Follow GOD’s will, we can be GOD’s children

Mat 12:50 For whoever does the pleasure of my Father in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Obey GOD will, can have eternal life

Mat 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will go into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the pleasure of my Father in heaven.

Follow GOD’s will, is living for ever

1Jn 2:17 And the world and its desires is coming to an end: but he who does God's pleasure is living for ever.

Promises to disciple:

Mak 11:24 For this reason I say to you, Whatever you make a request for in prayer, have faith that it has been given to you, and you will have it.

Daily attitude toward prayer

Rom 12:12 Being glad in hope, quiet in trouble, at all times given to prayer,
Phl 4:6 Have no cares; but in everything with prayer and praise put your requests before God.

Prayer is not only to your friend or what you want, but to your adversary

Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Have love for those who are against you, and make prayer for those who are cruel to you;

How shall we pray when we are sick

Jas 5:15 And by the prayer of faith the man who is ill will be made well, and he will be lifted up by the Lord, and for any sin which he has done he will have forgiveness.
Jas 5:16 So then, make a statement of your sins to one another, and say prayers for one another so that you may be made well. The prayer of a good man is full of power in its working.

Warning for praying

1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is near: so be serious in your behavior and keep on the watch with prayer;
